While the mod loader does currently work with the Epic Games Store version, the tool's creators won't be supporting it in the future. This is a guide for the Steam version of Sonic Mania. With this in mind, we've put together a quick guide on how to add levels to Sonic Mania. However, rather than wait, modders are filling out Mania's level roster with loads of impressive levels from Sonic's back catalog. While many are holding out for a Sonic Mania 2, SEGA isn't showing signs that this is in the works. It's also only appropriate that it's being kept alive by modders as the development team cut their teeth making Sonic mods back in the early noughties. It's the first 2D Sonic game to be released since the disappointment of Sonic 4 back in 2010, and it's more than made up for it. Other mods may work, but are not completely supported.While SEGA is working on its next 3D Sonic game, Sonic Frontiers, the fan community has been keeping Sonic Mania alive with the help of mods.Not clicking Start for the game in the Crowd Control client before launching the game will cause it to crash.This mod does not work with any other version of the game besides Steam! That means no Epic or Origin game store support :(**.Save & Play from the Mania Mod Manager!.Make sure “Chat Vs Sonic Mania - Crowd Control” is checked.Right click Sonic Mania in Steam > Manage > Browse local files. The mod manager is installed in your Steam game folder.Launch ManiaModManager.exe from the Sonic Mania folder.Hit START in the Crowd Control desktop app.Copy the contents of this zip to the mods folder in your Sonic Mania install.Unzip the contents of the zip to your Sonic Mania install. Head to Mania Mod Loader and grab the latest download. We will be using a mod manager to allow effects to work. If you want to apply the mod yourself, feel free to follow these steps.
